Take a tour of the MacBU!

Robert Scoble takes a tour of Microsoft’s Mac Business Unit (MacBU - pronounced Mac-Boo). My ex-team. Sniff. Brings back memories… Steve Friesen does a great job as host with sidekicks Dennis and Andy. Nice job guys.

I worked with all these guys for years. They are very dedicated to the Mac and the Mac Office product. It’s a great team staffed by smart people. I had a great time working with them, though now I do next to nothing with Macintoshes. Oh well.

    Do you speak italian?

I sure don’t, but here I am in an italian publication of some kind.

    Pesky Varmit update

This just in, Jack appears to be on the mend. His temperature is down. He’s begging at the table. He’s interested in playing again. For christmas we gave him a stuffed duck that quacks when you squeeze it. When we gave it to him he was so happy he ran around the house, doing laps around the kitchen. Finally after lying down on his bed, and within about ten minutes and about forty quacks, he had eaten, yes eaten, the ducks face off. What a maroon. Later we had fun hiding it and letting him sniff it out and hunt down the prey. I couldn’t believe he ate the poor ducks face off though. That just seemed wrong somehow.

    Web based aggregation…

Newsgator online rocks. Thanks Omar, though I’ve got a complaint there Melville, your posts are just getting too long. ;-)

    It’s been a year…

I’ve been blogging for a year now. Holy crap. I’m getting old. Time is screaming by like a supersonic fighter jet. Dammit.

    Hopefully, somebody give’s a rats ass out there… :-)

    Fur friend update

Jack seems to be a bit better - maybe. Not well yet. He just doesn’t seem to want to get better! I’m getting used to him being sick. When he does get well and starts running around and pouncing on his leash again, it’ll be a shock! A welcome shock, but a shock nonetheless.

His temperature last night was 103.2. Still high, but a full 1.5 degrees lower than it was. He’s still shockingly skinny, but we’re feeding him canned and human food now trying to fatten him up a bit. We still haven’t heard the results of the last blood and urine tests which should come in today or tomorrow. The early indications are that they’ll be inconclusive though. It may be time for a specialist. One thing we noticed lately is he seems to be quite sore, he walks slowly, whimpers when he jumps out of the car, whimpers when you touch him the wrong way. I hope this is some sort of side affect of having a fever for so long and that it’s not an indication of something bad like arthritis or something even worse (which shall remain nameless). When this happens and we see his way too prominent backbone and ribs, we feel really sad for him.

He does seem to be in good spirits though. He came and found us last night upstairs for some attention and I petted him for a while. He sure likes his ears scratched. Usually he just lies on his bed and wags his little stumpy tail instead of following us around or jumping up when someone comes home like he used to.

Thank you for those who left kind words. Jacky Boy appreciates it.
