    Sleepy…

A few days ago I was working late at night at home. I started nodding off at my desk and eventually literally feel asleep sitting there. It was kinda like this.

What the hell is so damn funny?

This kid is clearly hopped up on the goofballs. Or Scooby Snacks. One of the two. Why, when I was a kid… bleh, I’m too old to type the rest of this joke.

Windows Vista RTM on my MacBook Pro (and MacBook) using BootCamp 1.1.2

I’m running Windows Vista RTM on my MacBook Pro, and B.’s MacBook, using BootCamp 1.1.2 (seems like I just typed that same sentence… ;-).

This works great (so far Vista is fantastic), though some bravery is required because you have to jump through some hoops to get the various hardware pieces working correctly because the installer for the Windows drivers you get with BootCamp 1.1.2 is not compatible with Vista. D’oh! I’m going to try to blog about these hoop jumps to help out other folks trying this. I have some extra resources to draw on since I work at Microsoft and am a Macintosh Business Unit alumni so hopefully I can mitigate some pain.

Some may ask why. Sigh. This is a good question. I had intended to use the MacOS for my personal computing stuff, like managing pictures, music, and email, but I found I just don’t have the bandwidth to setup my life on two platforms. Managing large amounts of data across multiple machines is tough enough, but managing large amounts of data across multiple machines on multiple platforms makes me want to pop a Nerf cap in my temple. Pop. Thump. Ow. Basically I gave up even trying the two platform thing. Either way, though, the MacBook family of hardware is so great it makes me drool like Homer Simpson looking at a display case of donuts. Mmmm…. macbooks…. drooool… slurp…. So to me it’s worth it to run on Apple hardware.

    Time to bust a gut…

Haven’t seen the flick Tenatious D yet but this clip completely busted my gut. All over the floor. I’ll spare you the clean up details.

BTW, check out the website - it’s chock full of laughables. That O should be the size of my head!
